Hulk Hogan was wrestling into his 90s it seemed.

He was almost 44 when he first turned heal into Hollywood Hogan during bash at the beach in 1996.

Personally, that's when I lost interest...when Vince McMahon became a front line star and even more when Shane and Stephanie and the mother became visuals.
Same here. Vince's' ego became the show every week instead of the actual talent. I'm in the minority but I never liked the Austin McMahon feud.

I was being sarcastic, but it seemed he was 90 and still at it.

I knew you were. When he made his come back into WWE after they bought WCW, he was in his 50s.

Lost interest in wrestling when Goldberg ended Bret Hart's career in WCW
From time to time though i'll watch the ladies like Roxanne Perez from NXT but I feel there isn't much to the art of entertainment wrestling anymore. It's the same gimmicks and the same lame duck promos
You can thank Vince McMahon and his speechwriters for that

Wrestling should be like this today but those days are long gone

Shack, you forgot that cad and dirty fighter who later teamed up with Bobo Brazil and became a hero. Dick the Bruiser. Don't forget the Sheik. Did you know that the Sheik actually owned Motor City Wrestling?

Yes, the reviled Sheik. I still remember that crazy-eyed face he made as he applied the Camel Clutch and would look from side to side. TBH, I don't think I remember much of Dick the Bruiser.

And then we had the ref, Pat Flanagan, who used his mule kick once in a while when a wrestler was getting out of hand.

The attitude era came to a screeching halt with the Chris Benoit atrocity. At the time too many prime wrestlers were dropping like flies, Brian Pillman, Kurt Hennig and Eddie Guerrero among the notables. McMahon exploited the wrestlers to increase his power and take over WCW from Ted Turner. Now we know how much of a scumbag he truly is.

He was the epitome of the town bully. He hated everybody and worse, he would use a chair or a pencil to poke you in the eye. Thoroughly hissable.

I’ve been caught in some wrestling loophole, watching nonstop wrestling on YouTube for months and I think this thread had a lot to do with that. Really trying to learn about the Attitude era. After years of wondering, I have finally figured out how Vince McMahon went from commentator to owner.

In the 90s he started conducting interviews in the ring, and started really playing up the cards on upcoming events …..in 1996, he started getting accused from wrestlers on the broadcast Monday Night Raw in particular, that he was stealing their earnings and not honouring contracts etc. etc.. And then from there he would pretend to be a square commentator trying to avoid drama and doesn’t know what people are talking about. This was the natural transformation from commentator to executive. And then when the Montreal Screw Job happened
to Brett Hart, Brett flat out accused McMahon of foul play and stealing his title and having the referees rigged. This was actually a real life accusation lol. Vince McMahon just ran with that and Mr. McMahon the character was born.

I’m so happy to finally have this knowledge lol.

…. Lol and then I just saw on a 1996 Monday Night Raw, where Stone Cold Steve Austin says to Vincent McMahon, “ Gorilla Monsoon is just a puppet and everybody knows you’re the one that calls all the shots…… Vince McMahon says “ummm I’m not exactly sure what you’re talking about.” so Vince McMahon was in denial about being the owner in 1996, but then by 1997 after the Montreal Screwob, he just claimed ownership and said “Brett screwed Brett.”

And there we have it. That’s how it went down. Oh my God I can’t believe how important this is for me to finally understand how Vince McMahon went from commentating to owner lol. I grew up on the 80s Jesse The Body Ventura and Vince McMahon doing the colour commentator I never understood how Vince became the owner in the eyes of the public. 1996 it was a slow gradual transition from commentator to owner.

Brendan Schaub is a stiff and a fool. What does he hope to accomplish by making fun of Mya Lesnar?

He rehearsed the character in Memphis a few years earlier before he brought it to the main show.
