This kind of statement is the kind Lantsman has been offering up, practically since October 7th. Calls it as she sees it, & has correctly predicted what would get worse - it has. Every party at level of government needs more urgency to their condemnation, & more urging of law enforcement to be as aggressive & vigilant as possible re: widespread threats. Tremendously tepid statements today from the Prime Minister...&, as it affects me, so many friends & colleagues, & radio/podcast listeners, the Mayor of Toronto. Their statements would be fitting for a one-off incident of hateful graffiti (not great, of course, at all) - but it's a touch casual (bad!) for a widespread domestic terror threat. Toronto just (per the RCMP) narrowly avoided a mass casualty event 3+ weeks ago, & Mayor Chow hasn't even acknowledged this frightening moment. You can't make this stuff up. We're all a bit scared & rattled. Defiant, but scared & rattled. Can we just be this passive at the federal level for another 14 months? Can we in the City of Toronto for another, umm, 26 months? More on the show tomorrow. And Melissa Lantsman will be my guest to kick off the 8a hour. I'm going to go watch Bill Clinton!
