I know most of you were only 10 years old when you last had a McDonald's hamburger, but you do remember that they were only 99 cents, and even in 2018 I only paid 99 cents for them. Then the pandemic doubled the price, and I was disgruntled about that, but I understood the situation and accepted it. Well, now pre-pandemic prices should be back, right? Well, I went to McDonald's today and ordered 4 hamburgers, and they charged me over $12! Yes, instead of dropping back, the price got raised again, to a whole whopping $3 per hamburger! Someone please tell me I'm just dreaming here!

On another subject, I had my first pint of beer at the Parkdale Hotel in 1959 at age 18, (illegally) for 15cents a pint, mind you it was only an 8 ounce glass.

I was living in Calgary in 1970 when a buddy drove into a MacDonalds and introduced me to the institution.
It was an amazing deal back in those days. Couldn't refuse. Big macs tasted fresh cooked off the grill. The sauce was delicious.
Now it seems you are looking at over $10.00 for the same meal as below.

"A small order of fries at McDonald's in 1970 cost 26 cents. In 1970, a Big Mac cost 65 cents and a small Coke cost 15 cents, and together they cost $1.06 plus tax."

Which for me at the time meant about 20 minutes wages.
