Movie theaters are hoping that Christopher Nolan's latest film Tenet can save them from bankruptcy. I consider Nolan films an event, like most of his other films, I'll be going to the theater. Naturally I'll wear and mask and will keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in the car.

When Nolan first started working on his new project, he said he wanted to make a film in the spirit of Alfred Hitchcock. The film looks like a sequel to the brilliant Inception to me. Does John David Washington have his father Denzel's moxy? On the basis of his work in BlacKKKlansman, I would say yes.

There are three other films attempting to revive the theater market: Unhinged, Bill and Ted Face The Music and The New Mutants. Wile E Rusty (Russell Crowe) has gotten it started. Not surprising, Rusty has never done anything nice and easy - he likes it nice and rough. So far it seems that audiences are responding to his nerve, the film has made $6 million outside the home. Bill and Ted is hot commodity Samara Weaving's first Ready or Not release. Two other films that were in the can were released after the Ready or Not echo effect with mixed results.

Will Disney pay the price for being a Chinese Communist Party lackey?

So far Mulan will not be released in theaters, Disney + is charging $29.99 for the pleasure. The New Mutants is getting a theater release but it appears to be taking the brunt of public fury.

Rusty never misses an opportunity to jump into the fire. This is his psycho moment, currently there's nothing more frightening than an obsessed stalker. It shouldn't be making money and Rusty has had his share of bombs. All I can say is - it's Rusty.

I recommend a surgical mask, despite the health authorities telling us to wear a non-medical mask. They are more comfortable and will allow you to breath more easily, during a 2-hour movie, than the cloth ones made by Tom, Dick, Jane and Harry.

Movie theatres, like many other industry, was on the decline pre-pandemic. The pandemic will just accelerate their disappearance. When you can get a 65 inches high definition tv with extra amazing sound bar all under 2k...

I remember waiting in line for 2h to buy tickets for "The Phantom Menace"... Last december I bought and walked in with the kids 5 minutes before "The Rise of Skywalker" with an half empty theatre...

The sweet charm of Rusty, I'm writing a review on this one. Great still Jeremy Jahns.

I love Rusty, always have.

The Mummy bombed, no one was going to believe that Tommy Boy Cruise could beat up Rusty. It's like Woody Allen picking a fight with Mike Tyson. Tommy Boy blamed Sofia Boutella for the film's failure, doesn't matter, she's making another film with Rusty.

Certainly but I'm going to need a good cloth mask to wear. No way can I wear an uncomfortable N-95 mask through a 2.5 hr film. Those masks are a pain in the ass to wear, they fasten at the back of the head, if you take it off, the elastic snaps when you put it back on again.

Bill and Ted's Face the Music is on my menu board, I'm going to watch it first. I'm more interested in the daughters. I know what Samara Weaving can do but I've never heard of Brigette Lundy-Paine. She has to be a good comic actress, otherwise Ms Weaving will chew her up. Keanu Reeves is an awesome talent, a master of minimalism. For those who doubt his God-like powers, have you no faith?

Are you actually going to see Bill and Ted in the theatre? Unlike Tenet, it doesn't seem to be the sort of film that demands a big screen, and given that its already available for purchase online, wouldn't it make more sense to watch it at home? (Especially if you are mainly there for Samara Weaving...)

I thought I made that clear, it's on file. I'll probably watch it some time this week, a welcome comedy in very dark times.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri is an intense film. All the main characters live with some form of psychological distress - except Penelope. "just go pee".

Say what? CN is more hype than substance
I mean even check his work history
Majority of them win awards, get critics to cheer, then fall at box office
Too much hype not enough talent (Inception is prob his best, but its really not that good once you get over it)

Nice triggering attempt TeeJay but I'm not biting. I agree that the overall quality and lack of originality coming from Hollywood is driving the industry into the dirt. Last year's Best Picture Winner, Parasite, would not have been green lit by Hollywood. A sharp satire on inequality is much too risky, better to finance another empty Star Wars film.

And I've never understood why lovely Brie Larson got so much hate, Disney threw her under a bus. She'll get the last laugh. Disney will pay for sucking China's Communist Party's collective ass.

...Brie Larson, smells like Gorgonzola, tastes like Mascarpone.

Those are usually the ones worth watching. Sometimes they are too intellectual for certain individuals.

Box office has little to do with the quality of a film.

So true, both Night of the Hunter and Touch of Evil were box-office flops. Both films are now considered masterpieces. No one plays a better Mexican than Charlton Heston!

Written, directed and starring Orson Welles. This opening sequence heavily influenced Sergio Leone.

When Disney's share price falls to $60 or less, I'll consider buying. Most of the other major studios have done deals with media companies, they can weather the storm. Netflix started with a $15 share price, at the latest $548.62.

Disney+ is charging $29.99 for Mulan - which is what Sony charged for Venom in it's first week of VOD. Silly idiots, they thought that movie was going to bomb.

Disney has been bending the knee to the PRC for awhile now. The Tibetan Master in Dr. Strange was replaced by Tilda Swinton.
